4 Sarah Heller and her partner Chris Eidam were looking forward to the birth of their first child.
They were all set and happy and already knew they are going to have a baby boy and the couple even decided the name, Brody.

Sara's ultrasound showed that Brody had bilateral cleft lip and palate. Sarah and Chris were initially stunned, but the couple decided to do something different with their son's prognosis.
6 The doctors said that there were only 9 cases like Brody’s in the world.
"They asked us if we wanted to keep the pregnancy," dad Chris Eidam tells Omaha News. But Sara and Chris were adamant that they were going to have their baby.

10 On Today Show she was asked what motivated her the most to enable her the courage for raising Brody?
Sarah replied, "We wanted to spread awareness". She wanted to show the world that babies with cleft lips and palate are also beautiful and those parents who are raising kids with these natural anomalies deserve respect and motivation.
11 One evening not so long ago, Sara was out for dinner with Brody and some of her friends.
the server approached them and explained this was from another customer while handing them the folded napkin.
12 However, Sara soon discovered that it was a folded up check.
The mom could hardly take in what she saw. There was a check for USD $1,000 along with a note; 'For your beautiful baby.' The generous and surprise gift helped Sara and Chris pay for some of Brody's medical expenses. Brody’s latest operation helped repair his lip. Brody is healing well, in the meantime, both parents are extremely grateful for the kind gesture they received.
